How beautiful is this backdrop? I don’t think these pictures even portray how wonderfully reminiscent of autumn it is. I forgot how much I love this season – it’s so photogenic. It’s cold but not too cold, the leaves are still falling from their branches and I’m looking forward to the daily dog walk, traipsing through colourful woods in my wellies (with a very muddy dog!)
Of course, there are the downsides : I really can’t get out of bed until the sun starts to rise. I’ve tried, really I have, but it feels so unnatural to get up when it’s still dark. My dressing gown is now worn over every outfit when I’m working from home – I swear my boyfriend thinks I’ve only just got up when he comes home from work but the truth is, I’m just SO bloody cold and I can’t justify turning on the heating during the day. I drink so much tea – this isn’t a bad thing, more just a confession. Oh, and I keep buying cosy, snuggly cardigans – again, not a bad thing as such, just a little observation as I’m looking into my wardrobe. (I’ve bought three so far this season, is that too many?)
I bought this berry cardi last autumn and I love its longer length, especially paired with these jeans. To fully appreciate and bask in this beautiful seasonal backdrop, I decided to adorn myself in a few more berry accessories, adding this simple New Look coat from last year and bold lip (NYX Copenhagen). Now normally I’m not a fan of teaming black with lighter wash denim and would normally opt for a pointed flat but I quite like how these ankle boots look there.
I’m just off to take a few more snaps of this beautiful leaf-covered brick wall..
