It is a truth universally acknowledged that in England, it rains. Quite a lot in fact. There are many different types of rain – the thunderous pelting kind (not favourable), the spitting type which actually gets you jolly wet and the slanting, coming at you from all angles rain – again, not particularly favourable and what we had the day we tried to take these photos.
Although it was no doubt more sensible not to bother taking any outfit shots this day, I had it in my mind that I really wanted to take ‘just a few’ – ah, those three words that so many boyfriends, husbands, the blogger photographer-taker simply hates. Actually, while there were more that were either too rainy or blurry to use, I quite like the few that came out well. It’s not all sunshine and perfect weather conditions after all and sometimes, I feel as though it’s necessary to capture these moments too.
Another all-black outfit and i’m still so in love with this Topshop (faux) leather jacket which I bought last year – I think it’s the touch of faux fur on the collar to be honest (and the fact it’s more or less rain proof). Paired with my favourite black boots which I find i’m wearing all the time at the moment, a pair of weather inappropriate velvet shorts and a snuggly black jumper I picked up in the H&M sale – oh, and the umbrella, of course. To be honest, it was my beloved photographer who bared the brunt of this typically English weather.
Summer, i’m already waiting for you.
