go to link I can’t help it, I love myself a good floral. Be it in dresses, tops or skirts – I am well and truly a florals girl at heart. I prefer the vintage-esque florals though, not these big and bold types where the colours don’t match and the flowers are pretty much unrecognisable.
click here I’m sure I’ve mentioned this coat before as I have worn it a few times on my little blog – I bought it a few years ago now on a little trip to Holt. They have an array of pretty vintage shops and I found this tucked away. It reminds me of an old dressing gown or something Mary Darling (Ref. Peter Pan) might wear. To be honest, that’s a pretty good mix. It’s got a beautiful, yet subtle, brocade pattern mixing blush pink and gold and I added a couple of gold detail buttons when I got it home.
This top is another vintage number too – perhaps originally from M&S or BHS – and I completely understand that it may not be to everyone’s taste but I think that’s why I like it. Paired with skinny jeans I think it brings it back to the modern day a bit more.
Sometimes I wonder if it’s frustrating (as a reader) scrolling through blog posts where you can’t actually buy an item you may like because it’s ‘vintage’ or just old. Thinking about it, I may get a little annoyed because there are so many items I covet through reading other blogs but, on the other hand, it’s a little inspiration isn’t it? Although you may well not find this jolly old Granny top on the high-street, it might encourage a jaunt in the local charity shops to find something similar?
I’d love to hear your thoughts on this – do you prefer reading blogs where the items worn are more attainable? Where you can just click on a link to buy the item there and then?
