I couldn’t resist prancing around another field in another pretty Cath Kidston dress. I love the colours of this one and paired with a simple white tee, it’s such an easy and comfortable outfit to wear for these summer days.
There’s something so nostalgic about these Cath Kidston floral dresses which is perhaps why I’m so fond of them – they fit beautifully, have pockets (is that a valid reason?) and wonderful prints that combined, depict a time of long, hazy English summers – spending time beside pretty river banks, fields filled with meadow flowers, perfect picnic spots, summer bike rides and the British seaside.
I know what you’re thinking: Harriet, are you actually 67? I don’t blame you for thinking that, sometimes I think the same but the truth is, I feel terribly nostalgic for those long lost hot summers conveyed so wonderfully in The Famous Five or Swallows and Amazons. I think Cath Kidston reminds me of these days that I yearn for during the dark and dreary winter months and perhaps, consequentially, why I always get so fed up with our typical British summer (and talk about it constantly, I know).
I’m sure they’ll be a fair few more Cath Kidston dresses appearing on here soon – so if florals are your thing, be sure to follow me here!
