I get ever so excited when I can leave the house with bare legs and not get chilly. Although it did rain half an hour after taking these pictures, it was that warm, Summer rain which is sometimes quite refreshing and needed to break up the humidity in the air. It’s often also torrential, so you’ll get drenched too!
This is such an easy, lazy dress to throw on when the weather allows it and was a jolly good purchase from Zara last year. I do realise I’m posting rather a lot of ‘casual’ outfits recently but if I’m honest, that’s what I’ve been reaching for. The trick is, I find, to jazz them up a little so they are still acceptable to leave the house in. Adding gold accessories here – this chunky gold necklace was such a find in a charity shop a few years ago and my beloved Topshop loafers – help to make it that little bit smarter, or perhaps just a little bit more interesting. Let’s say interesting, smarter sounds rather dull, doesn’t it.
I feel as though this is a very ‘Harriet’ outfit and perhaps this is why I like it so much. A lovely lady even complimented me in Tesco, so it must look pretty good.
Perhaps the backdrop should’ve been at a lovely little beach somewhere and I should be holding an ice-cream but we didn’t go to the beach that day I’m afraid, only Tesco to pick up dog food in the afternoon.
I’ve just got back from work and I managed to pop into one of my favourite little vintage shops on the way home, so I’m rather tempted to do another little blog post (maybe even a video) soon to show you what I’ve picked up. I just can’t help myself, I do love a good old rummage!
