I know, I know, l have a slight problem with pink. Ironically, growing up, I was much more of a tom-boy, something I’m sure I’ve mentioned before. While many girls would be eyeing up all the pinks, I was much more into blue, forever wanting to paint my bedroom different shades of turquoise. It’s only really this year that I’ve developed an undeniable love for all things pink (when it comes to fashion that is, luckily this hasn’t crept into homeware just yet.)
With the introduction of blush pink everything this summer into high street stores, I can’t help but carry this through into A/W. I’m like a magpie, but one that’s drawn to pink instead. Saying that, I am rather fond of metallics and sequins too.
So I thought I’d show you a few of my favourite pink pieces to wear this season – notice the range of shades and how aesthetically pleasing they are! I’ve branched out from the blush tones, injecting a few fuchsias and salmon pink tones too.
This colour makes me happy and I love seeing these pieces hanging in my wardrobe – plus, it pairs so well with greys and burgundy tones too, so really, it’s an AW staple and a rather good investment.
A few of the pieces – the cosiest longline cardi, striped polo neck, blush pink polo neck and velvet number – are all recent buys from Primark. I always love their autumn selection most as they’re the perfect mix and match pieces at very reasonable prices. I’m very tempted to pop back and get a few more of their polo necks as they’re ideal for layering when it gets a little colder. The bomber jacket – with the prettiest embroidery – was a sale bargain from New Look this summer and the bright pink jacket you will have seen, another smug vintage purchase I’m afraid! The silk cami (seen in my last post, here) was also a terrific find in a charity shop and again, this is so perfect for layering.
Prepare to see many a pink inspired post coming your way (sorry).
