Weekday Inspiration #1

October 16, 2016

I’ve been thinking long and hard about how I can combine my love for fashion, Pinterest and street style on my blog for a while now. My Sunday’s are usually spent cosying up and scrolling through Pinterest, feeling inspired by outfits, colours and different textures. So I thought, why not use these pins to inspire my outfits for the week ahead.

I work from home and so joggers and cosy knits tend to be the order of the day. This means that lots of my lovely clothes aren’t necessarily worn unless I’m popping out or it’s the weekend (or, that I just feel like dressing up!) I’ve decided that every Sunday, I’m going to aim to pop up a blog post with five outfits which I am loving that weekend, ready to inspire me for the working week ahead. Now firstly, I am a pretty casual dresser so the images won’t be anything too dressy, nor will I follow and copy them exactly, it’s mainly to give you an idea of what I love and me a little inspiration for when I wake up in the morning. Pinterest is definitely my main source of inspiration when it comes to fashion (and homes, food, life in general.)

So, this week, of course there’s lots of knitwear and denim. I am loving this pleated skirt and jumper combo so I’d definitely like to incorporate this look (as long as it’s not too cold, I do get cold very easily so the pull to add thick socks might be too tempting..!) I keep coming back to this second image on a regular basis: the boyfriend jeans, cosy faux fur coat and ankle boots is so wonderfully effortless. The next image is definitely a go-to favourite look of mine, plus it’s perfect for autumn. I really wanted to include this next image as it’s given me lots of ideas – I’ve got a few second-hand petticoats which I’ve been looking to style and I think they’d look great styled over jeans or with boots. Lastly, another casual look by one of favourite bloggers, Mary Seng from Happily Grey. I recently bought a similar pair of jeans from ASOS and I am forever loving slouchy cardigans, so this is a very ‘me’ outfit.

So, there we have it. My inspiration for the week ahead – let’s hope I don’t get too tempted to sit and write in my PJs (always a likely scenario!) My plan is to put together a little ‘Week in Outfits’ post for the Saturday, showing you how these images have influenced my style for the working week. I might pop a little video montage up on my YouTube channel too – sometimes it’s nice to see fashion in video form!

Love, Harriet
